Book Review

I absolutely loved the cozy little town of Maple Hollow and all its witchy, spooky vibes. Jordyn accidentally summons her dead ex-girlfriend, Lou, and things get wonderfully chaotic from there when Harlow enters the picture. Add in magic, mystery, ghosts, vampires, witches, and a sweet sapphic romance, and you’ve got the perfect fall read.

It was cute, funny, a little spicy, and just spooky enough without being scary. I especially loved the banter and all the quirky characters. Maple Hollow honestly feels like the kind of place I’d want to visit during Halloween season… preferably with a pumpkin spice latte in hand.

Fake it 'Til Fall:

Fake it 'Til Fall: A Grumpy Sunshine Fake Relationship Fall Romance (Faking the Holidays Book 2)

There are things nobody tells you about starting over in Boston after your fiancé cheats on you.

Rent will make you consider marrying for closet space. Cobblestones are ankle traps with historical significance. And if you move here to prove you're fine, proper meals and eight hours of sleep are luxuries.

I'm handling it. Mostly.

What I am not handling is Forrest Wolfcraft.

Our families have been feuding since before we were born. Forrest—retired hockey player, professionally grumpy, conversational range of a locked door—sits in the café I work in four days a week with Puck, his ridiculously adorable rescue dog, and refuses to be as awful as he's supposed to be.

Then my mother calls. My ex is marrying the woman he cheated on me with. At my family's vineyard. And Mom wants me to help with their wedding because the vineyard needs the business.

Unfortunately, I need the money.

It's fine. I can help from Boston and stay safely away from the happy couple. Until everything goes wrong and I have to go home and work the wedding in person.

There is no way I'm walking back into town broke, single, and alone while my ex marries his affair partner. I need a boyfriend. A fake one.

So I ask Forrest, and somehow, he says yes.

Unfortunately, Forrest is terrible at being fake because he keeps doing all the things a real boyfriend should.

Somewhere between convincing everyone we're together and trying to keep my walls firmly in place, I'm starting to forget we're pretending.

From USA Today Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa comes a cozy, fall-filled small-town romance with a fake relationship, grumpy-sunshine chemistry, forced proximity, and a hero who falls first.

🍂Fake dating

🍂A grumpy retired hockey player

🍂Bookstore café meet-cute energy

🍂Cozy fall vineyard chaos

🍂One very dramatic dog

🍂He falls first, but acts like it’s a scheduling problem

🍂No third-act breakup

Book Review

Forrest needs a fake girlfriend and Daisy needs to return home to help her family with her ex's wedding so she doesn't want to show up single. So they plan a fake dating relationship which of course never goes as planned.

This book will wrap you in a big hug and won't let you go! I loved everything about this book and was so sad when the book ended because I didn't want to leave these two or Puck yet. LOL...If you're looking for a fall romance that will keep you entertained and make you fall in love then I highly recommend this book!

Hard Lines:

Hard Lines: A Grumpy/Sunshine Hockey Romance with a Service Dog (Wildwood Wolves Hockey Book 1)

I train the most aggressive rescue dogs in Montana. But I’ve never met an animal as broken—or as dangerous—as the disgraced hockey captain renting my cabin.

BECK

Three concussions ended my career and turned my mind into a dark war zone. I came to the mountains to hide from the world, not to be domesticated by my landlord or her fiercely defensive German Shepherd. But Hadley has a quiet, rugged calm that acts like an absolute drug to my frayed nervous system. She thinks I’m just a brutal grump who wants to die in isolation. She has no idea. Behind closed doors, my darkness turns into a fierce, protective obsession. I’m a broken captain who finally found his sanctuary, and I am never letting her go.

HADLEY

I know exactly how to handle wild, unmanageable males—the four-legged kind. I don't do pity, and I don't have room for a massive, ruined athlete who rejects the entire world. But when my wildest rescue dog refuses to leave Beck's side, our lives collide in a high-heat, isolated pressure cooker. Beck is a scarred giant who treats the rest of the world like an enemy, but the second he traps me against the stable wall, his rough hands are incredibly gentle. He isn't just a distraction—he's a breathless, high-heat addiction, and my careful boundaries are about to burn.

Book Review
This is book one of the new Wildwood Wolves Hockey series. After several concussions and issues from them, Beck has been sent down to the AHL. When he gets to his rental in his new town, he meets Hadley Quinn. She owns a Second Chance canine organization that trains dogs to help those in need. One of her rescue dogs who has flunked out of all his training. chooses Beck and begins forming a bond with him. This relationship between Apollo and Beck brings Hadley closer to them. This was a really great read and I love seeing them all connect through the way Apollo chose his own people. What an absolutely sweet steamy, tender, love story and an excellent start to this new series.

The Kraken's Forbidden Touch

The Kraken's Forbidden Touch (Creature University Book 4)

There’s one rule at Creature University I’m definitely not supposed to break: keep my hands off the professor’s son.

I’m still getting used to being the curvy human girl on a campus full of creatures when I meet him.

The kraken.

He’s gorgeous, confident, and very aware that I can’t seem to stop looking at him. The attraction between us is instant, but there’s a problem. His father has spent years warning him that humans are off-limits, especially the ones invited to Creature University as potential mates.

So when the kraken realizes I’m his?

We’re supposed to stay away from each other.

Instead, stolen glances turn into secret meetings, and every forbidden touch makes it harder to remember why we’re following anyone else’s rules.

I thought the scariest thing about October would be spending Halloween surrounded by monsters.

Turns out it’s falling for one I’m not allowed to have.

A curvy heroine, an obsessed kraken, forbidden romance, fated mates, secret meetings, spooky campus vibes, and a sweet and spicy HEA. 🐙🎃🍂💕

Book Review :

I love this series and please read in order.  The perfect Halloween romance with fun and hot monster meeting human farted mates.  Lots of Fun side charcters set in a university seting. Read them all.

Monday Cozy Mystery

Murder in Patchwork: A cozy quilt mystery (The Patchwork House Mysteries Book 1)

Murder in Patchwork — The Patchwork House Mysteries, Book 1

When Nora Whitfield returns to the English village of Ashcombe after nearly twenty years away, she expects to find fabric, familiar faces, and the particular low-level social warfare of a place that never quite forgets anything. What she doesn't expect is a mystery stitched into a hundred-year-old quilt.

Commissioned to examine a patchwork quilt discovered in the attic of Elmwood Hall, textile conservator Nora finds herself reading more than fabric — she's reading a family secret buried for sixty years. When the woman who first found the quilt turns up dead at the bottom of a manor house staircase, the inquest calls it an accident. Nora isn't so sure.

With her best friend Priya supplying tea, intelligence, and lemon drizzle cake, the formidable Margaret Fanshawe guarding the village's oldest secrets, and heritage carpenter Tom Calloway noticing rather more than he lets on, Nora begins piecing together a story of hidden inheritance, long-kept silence, and a killer hiding in plain sight behind the most respectable of faces.

Cosy, clever, and deeply English,
Murder in Patchwork is the first book in The Patchwork House Mysteries — a series set in the kind of village where everyone knows everyone, remembers everything, and still talks around the truth.

Perfect for fans of Richard Osman, Alexander McCall Smith, and M.C. Beaton.

Book Review
Murder in Patchwork is a well written and well crafter mystery. Nora, a published fiber professional with advanced degrees, returns to her hometown to visit her grandmother in her fabric store. Before she even completely unpacked she is asked to analyze and examine a vintage quilt that was found in the attic of the town Manor house. As Nora works she realizes the quilt is telling a story. To complete her work, she will have to figure out what that story is. Very enjoyable, quick read.

Wax, Lies & Apple Pies: A Small-Town Candle Shop Cozy Mystery (The Wick & Quill Cozy Mysteries Book 1)

A poisoned apple treat. A dead property broker. A candle shop owner with a dangerous talent for reading old mail.

Hazel Wren came back to Morrow Creek for a quiet second chance. Her plan was simple: reopen her late aunt’s candle-and-stationery shop, Wick & Quill, sell enough hand-poured candles to survive the Apple Butter Jubilee, and ignore the town gossip about her disgraced grandfather.

Then Mason Decker drops dead behind her festival booth.

Mason was the slick broker trying to buy half of Main Street, which means nearly every vendor had a reason to want him gone. The orchard owner was fighting for her family business. The pie judge had an old grudge. The councilwoman wanted his redevelopment deal buried. And Hazel has the worst connection of all: Mason was carrying packaging from her shop when he died.

The police see a suspicious label.

Hazel sees a clue.

As a former postal inspector, Hazel knows paper has a memory. Labels, envelopes, route marks, and old notices can expose the truth long after people stop talking. But the deeper she digs, the clearer it becomes that Mason was not just chasing property. He was collecting undelivered letters from Morrow Creek’s closed post office, and one of them could destroy a founding family’s carefully polished legacy.

With her new shop under suspicion, her family name dragged back through the mud, and one opinionated cat named Postmark making himself useful at the worst possible moments, Hazel must catch a killer before the truth is sealed away for good.

Wax, Lies & Apple Pies is the first book in The Wick & Quill Cozy Mysteries, a warm small-town cozy mystery series with a charming candle shop, fair-play clues, light romance, festival secrets, and a sharp amateur sleuth who knows every lie leaves a

Book Review

Great storyline, but over use of the latest trend of giving human emotions to inanimate objects. A little bit is fine, but this was pretty much every sentence.

Book Review : A Match Made In Fall

It’s the season of falling leaves and quiet change. For Isabella Martin, it feels like everything she’s built is slipping out of reach.

A sudden injury halts her ballroom dance career and sends her to a new city to stay with family, far from the life she knows. As she struggles to figure out what comes next, she meets Austin, a driven hockey player for the Carolina Bears. Their connection is instant, easy, and impossible to ignore. The only problem is that Isabella never meant to stay.

Then someone from her past reappears, pulling her into a fake relationship that quickly starts to feel natural and real. What was supposed to be simple becomes anything but, leaving Isabella torn between the life she thought she wanted and the one she never saw coming.

Book Review: Flirty Fall Fling

Flirty Fall Fling: a small-town spicy secret fling romcom (Seasonal Swoon Book 1)

THE USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF FALL I WANT PRESENTS FLIRTY FALL FLING!

I read the grumpy skeptic's fortune in the bottom of a coffee cup. The grounds say he'll find true love, but I tell him to expect a flirty fall fling…

In my defense, he thinks I'm a fraud and made it clear he doesn't believe in l-o-v-e. I try to forget him, but he keeps appearing wherever I go. Then he offers me five grand per hour to break a family curse he swears is real. Considering I need the money to repair the roof of my haunted manor, I help him.

Our sessions end before the autumn equinox, and instead of walking away he proposes a new deal: be each other's until Halloween. Against my better judgment, I agree, but with strict rules.

Between sneaking around at the apple orchard and finding each other in the hay maze, I catch myself not wanting to keep him my dirty little secret. The town's meddling matchmakers don't know their beloved Jamie is Jameson Cross, a billionaire in hiding. Or that he's in my bed every night. When the paparazzi track him down and the tabloids leak that he's dating a witch, his bags are already packed for New York.

The cup said he'd find his forever, and I don't believe it's me. Magically, the stubborn man who's never been able to commit to anyone longer than thirty days is determined to prove me wrong.

And I think the universe might be on his side. Pfft.

Flirty Fall Fling is the first book in a brand new season series by Lyra Parish. The Secrets of Sweet Blessings Bakery

The Secrets of Sweet Blessings Bakery: The cozy, emotional, small-town romance of forgiveness and second chances (Sugar Gap Romances Book 1)

🍁 Small-town
🍁 Emotional
🍁 Dual POV

🍁 Second chance
🍁 Bakery vibes
🍁 First love
🍁 Matchmaking

Now she's an award-winning chef in Seattle. A new name. A designer wardrobe. A reputation for reducing her staff to tears. The freckled bakery girl is long gone, and Mariah likes it that way.

Then her grandmother's lawyer calls.

The terms of the will are simple. Mariah and her two estranged sisters must return to Sugar Gap and complete fifteen seasonal tasks set by their grandmother. A scavenger hunt that sends them chasing memories all over the town they grew up in.

There's just one problem. The handsome county sheriff roped into helping is Sam Jenkins. The boy whose heart she broke when she left all those years ago.

Fifteen tasks. Two sisters who haven't forgiven her. One stubborn sheriff who never stopped loving her. And her grandmother’s chocolate bourbon pie . . . Suddenly Mariah finds Sugar Gap may be a lot harder to leave.

Grab a spiced latte, order the pie and stay a while. Sugar Gap has been waiting for you.

book review

I really loved the idea of the story. There are many second chances in this story between Mariah and her sisters and with her a Sam. I will be honest I don't think Mariah leaving was a bad thing. In fact, I thought it was the right thing to do for them both. I don't think Sam really paid attention to what was happening in and to Mariah. For him life was good and they were in love so that meant both their lives were happy. As a whole this is a wonderful story that made me want to know more about the town and its people. I have a feeling there is more people that would love to tell their stories. I'd also like to know more about Mariah's sister, and I would hope they too would get there HEA's. This is perfect to read as we are heading into fall.

Book Review Nikolay: Kozlov Family Vampires Book 2

Nikolay: Kozlov Family Vampires Book 2

The greatest mistake Nikolay Kozlov ever made was believing fate needed his approval.

For more than three centuries, Nikolay had believed he knew exactly what his future would look like.

As a prince of one of the oldest vampire bloodlines in existence, he'd expected a mate who belonged in his world—a woman of refinement, legacy, and station.

Fate gave him Maddie.

A wolf shifter from a small Texas town, Maddie had worked in her brother's motorcycle shop and her mother's diner. She had a stubborn streak a mile wide, and a heart that drew everyone to her. She told you exactly what she thought about everything and never backed down from a fight. She was absolutely not the kind of woman Nikolay thought he wanted.

She simply became the woman he couldn't live without.

By the time Nikolay realized he'd made the biggest mistake he could have made, someone else had already set in motion an ancient ritual capable of stealing the future he'd only just realized was what he'd wanted all along. Now, saving Maddie meant outrunning a destiny another man intended to rewrite.

Sometimes the greatest love stories aren't about finding the right person.

They're about becoming the right person for the one fate has already chosen.

Nikolay is a sweeping paranormal romance featuring a proud vampire prince, an unforgettable wolf shifter, dangerous magic, razor-sharp banter, sizzling chemistry, found family, and a love that proved pedigree had never mattered—only the heart brave enough to surrender it.

Content Note: This is a dark paranormal romance featuring mature themes, explicit content, and potentially triggering situations. Reader discretion is advised. Intended for readers 18+. Check the trigger warnings provided in the front of book.

Book Review

I’ve read all of her Iron Valor books, then Kazimir and now Nikolay. I read Nikolay in a day. I couldn’t put it down. Lots of twists, turns & surprises to keep you guessing. I got mad at Nikolay several times but he finally got over himself & proved himself in the end. I loved that Maddie was a strong character. She stood up for herself but also didn’t deny the mate bond & trusted the goddess. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
